Today Rowlands Surveys is run by three directors: Laurie Nolan, Paul Hoskins and Ben Cook with combined experience in North Queensland totalling over 70 years.

Laurie Nolan

Registered cadastral surveyor Laurie Nolan commenced with Rowlands Surveys in 1985. He conducted a variety of engineering surveys in those early years before relocating, with Rowlands Surveys, to Mt Isa in 1990, where he worked on major projects at Mount Isa Mines as well as conducting exploration and mining tenure surveys for other mines in the area.

Laurie returned to Townsville in 1995, where he has worked on many large-scale projects including plant surveys for Queensland Nickel in Yabulu and extensive work on the commercial hub at Domain Central on Duckworth Street.

Paul Hoskins

Joining Rowlands fresh out of high school, Paul Hoskins undertook work experience with the company as a 17-year-old student from Ignatius Park College. Paul has worked extensively throughout north and western Queensland on a wide variety of projects including the construction of the Osborne and Ernest Henry mines. Registered with the Surveyors Board of Queensland as a surveying associate, Paul is working towards his cadastral endorsement and studying externally through USQ in Toowoomba for his Bachelor of Spatial Science majoring in Surveying. Paul is one of six employees at Rowlands studying externally and working towards their registration as surveyors, with the company committed to hiring locally and encouraging further studies.

Ben Cook

Joining Rowlands fresh out of high school, Ben moved from Mount Isa to Townsville to take up full time employment with Rowlands. Ben has worked extensively in the Townsville Region on a wide variety of projects over the multi-disciplinary fields of surveying, including large scale infrastructure projects, residential subdivisions and high rise building construction. Registered with the Surveyors Board of Queensland as a surveying associate, Ben is working towards his cadastral endorsement and studying externally through USQ in Toowoomba for his Bachelor of Spatial Science majoring in Surveying.
